January 3, 2025 marks a truly special milestone for us at Vitality Martial Arts—our 20th anniversary! On January 3, 2005, we taught our very first class under the name Kuk Sool Won of Woodland with just 30 students. At the time, GGKJN Justin was a 2nd Degree Black Belt (Kyo Sa Nim), and SBN Tiffany was a Black Belt Candidate (Dahn Bo Nim).
Over the years, our journey has been filled with growth, challenges, and countless memories. While we are no longer affiliated with the World Kuk Sool Association (WKSA), they are an important part of our school’s history, and we are grateful for the foundation it provided in shaping the early years of our martial arts journey.
In 2008, we welcomed our first instructor, Jessica Valdez (now Lugo). Soon after, incredible team members like Cesar Osorio and Shakirr Smallwood (now Feise) joined us. Along the way, we’ve had the honor of working with many talented instructors, including Solomon Eibensteiner, Matt Morrison, Anastasia Hartmann Olden, Jon Prenzler, and Nathan Shulkin.
Today, our dedicated instructor team includes:
GGKJN Justin Bunn
-SBN Tiffany Bunn
-BSBN Becki Santisteven
-BSBN Sam Walters
-KSN Kaylana Bunn
-JKN Tania Brenes
-DBN Marlene Solis
In 2023, we embraced an exciting new chapter by rebranding as Vitality Martial Arts, reflecting the energy and passion that drives our school forward.
Our journey has also been one of transformation—from starting on carpet floors to adding puzzle mats, tatami floor systems, upgraded mats, and countless facility improvements. Each step represents our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space for our students and their families.
We couldn’t have done this without the incredible Woodland and surrounding communities and the surrounding areas who have supported us through every class, tournament, and milestone. Thank you for believing in us, training with us, and growing with us over the past two decades.
Here’s to 20 years of sweat, laughter, and learning—and to the bright future ahead. Together, we are stronger, and the future is truly ours!
💪🥋 With gratitude,
GGKJN Justin, SBN Tiffany, and the Vitality Martial Arts Team
