Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about MyStudio martial arts business and programs.

What if my child has special needs?

We believe every child deserves the chance to experience the benefits of martial arts. Our instructors are patient, supportive, and experienced in working with a wide variety of learning styles and abilities. We’ll meet your child where they are and help them progress at their own pace. If you’d like, we can schedule a one-on-one conversation before the first class to discuss your child’s specific needs and how we can best support them.

How do we get started?

It’s easy! Just schedule your free introductory lesson. This lets you (or your child) experience martial arts firsthand and see how our program fits your goals.

What if my child is shy or has trouble focusing?

Martial arts is an excellent way to build focus, self-confidence, and social skills. Our instructors are trained to help every student succeed—no matter where they start.

How is martial arts different from other sports?

Unlike most sports, martial arts focuses on individual progress while also building community. Students develop confidence, discipline, and life skills that carry over into school, work, and daily life.

What ages can start martial arts?

We have programs for children as young as 3, all the way up to adults of any age. Our classes are designed to meet students at their level and help them grow at their own pace.

Do I (or my child) need any prior experience?

Not at all! Most of our students start as complete beginners. Our instructors will guide you step by step so you feel comfortable and confident right from the first class.

What should we wear to the first class?

Just wear comfortable workout clothes (like a t-shirt and athletic pants). Once you enroll, we’ll provide your martial arts uniform.

Will martial arts make my child aggressive?

Quite the opposite—our programs teach respect, discipline, and self-control. Students quickly learn that martial arts is about responsibility, not aggression.

How often are classes held?

We offer classes Monday through Friday at convenient times for families, teens, and adults. Students typically train 2–3 times per week for the best results.

Can parents watch classes?

Yes! We encourage parents to observe and be part of their child’s martial arts journey. Many parents love seeing their child’s confidence grow on the mat.

Is martial arts safe?

Safety is our top priority. Classes are structured, supervised by experienced instructors, and taught in a safe, supportive environment.
